Child Protective Services (CPS) |
CPS - Protecting your children is every parent’s most important job. However, even the best parents may get a call from CPS one day. CPS acts on reports from schools, neighbors, medical providers, ex spouses and members of the community. It can be a child at school saying that they are hungry because Mommy does not keep food in the house (when the facts show that Mommy just does not keep “junk food” in
the house) which alarms the nurse to make a report. It can be a child telling his friends that he watches porn at home. It can be that you allowed a sex offender in your home that triggers a call from a concerned neighbor. Whatever triggers the call, you may find that you will have to defend yourself against allegations of abuse or neglect.
It is imperative that you contact an attorney immediately for legal representation.
There is no right to remain silent in CPS litigation, and CPS is not obliged to warn you about your rights. |
